You are getting very sleepy...

Getting?!?! I feel like I've been run over by the posturpedic bed truck. Twice. Oiy. I went on a retreat this weekend (got up Thurs. at 4:30 am--home last nite at 11). I've probably not slept 12 hours in 5 days. Crazy. Anyway, the result of this is: i fall asleep at stop lights; a serious close call on the beltway last nite; a loooooong day today. But it's worth it. The weekend was awesome. Alas, I'm trying to conserve energy, so I'll write more later....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNE-CHOVIE!!!

Happy, Happy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Today is Anne's birthday and on my daily thought calender, here's what it said: "I have learned that to have a good friend is the purest of all God's gifts, for it is a love that has no exchange of payment." Farmer
Ture story. The Lord has blessed me greatly with several precious friends with whom I'm very close. I think that becomes more and more unusual as we get older and our places in life change. I'm especially blessed by Anne's friendship--not only did I meet her at the ripe old age of 30--and it's just unusal to make such a close friend that 'late' in life--but also, because Anne is my closest friend actually in DC, she has lots of "responsibilities" in my head-and that's not always very fun for her. But she does a great job anyway and I'm grateful. Thank you, Anne!! May God Bless you MIGHTILY this year!
In honor of the Anne-chovie, I've got a Top 10 list...let's call it...
Top 10 Reasons Anne A. McMurry (otherwise known as the 'Anne-chovie') is the "schnizzle my nizzle" everyday, not just on her birthday!!!
10. She is totally generous.
9. She is super fun.
8. She is always up for a good time.
7. She is an awesome triathlete.
6. She is quick to offer help in trouble.
5. She is HIGH-larious.
4. She helps me remember my favorite jokes.
3. She is dependable.
2. She challenges people to do and be their best.
1. Because she totally loves the Lord and you can tell it!
Thanks for everything, and Happy Birthday, Home-chovie!

In my mind I'm going to Carolina...

Not true.

In my mind, I am sooo glad to be home from Carolina!! Whew. If you didn't know, I was in Charlotte M-F of last week for "Solutions Sales Training". It was hot. And there was LOTS of sales training (which I hate almost totally) and lots of being "trapped" in a room. Ick. Also, there was homework. I mean. Not my favorite week last week. But there were definately some good parts:

-a little bit of bonding w/ co-workers.
-Loverman went, too, and we had a great run one nite.
-Super nice hotel suite WAY bigger than my apt.
-Gorgeous weather.
-Did not spend a dime of my own $$ for 5 days!!!
-Super fun BSF--I met a ton of cool ladies and met a really nice woman who drove me home after and was so sweet and encouraging to me!

Some not so good parts:

-Not the best flight home I've ever had. Scary.
-Not much sleep; hard to sleep in a new place.
-When I got to the airport, my car was dead. Thank you, AAA!
-Lots of bad (oh so good) food during the week.
-Missed my buddies at home.

It's gonna be a slow, quiet week this week. There's a big educational conference and all my customers are at it...so no calls or emails!! Like a vacation, only different!

Glad to be back, yo.

Remiss.

I'm behind on the blog. Will update today! Right now, in fact!

In the meantime, a joke....

A doctor, lawyer and engineer have been sentenced to death by guillotine. As they are lined up waiting for their demise, the dr. says, "I'll go first--but I want to go face down." The executioner loads the dr. into the machine, pulls the lever and at the very last second, just milimeters from the dr's neck, the blade stops!!! "Free him! God has granted him mercy," cried the crowd, so the executioner set him free.

Next, the lawyer says, "I'll go next--but I want to go face down." The executioner loads the lawyer into the machine, pulls the lever and at the very last second, just milimeters from the lawyers's neck, the blade stops!!! "Free him! God has granted him mercy," cried the crowd, so the executioner set him free.

Lastly, the engineer says, "I'll go last--but I want to go face up." The executioner loads the engineer into the machine, and just as he is about to pull the lever the engineer says, "Wait!! I see the problem!"

Headache...

My eyes are crossed and the left one is twitching. For the last couple of weeks I've really noticed some eye strain going on at my computer. I've got to start taking more breaks and wearing my glasses--maybe even need to go to the eye doctor. I'm pretty sure I'm too old to learn braille---I mean, I can barely count on my fingers...much less read with them!

It's been a long week at work. Kind of slow which makes for slow days which isn't alot of fun. But lots going on, too. I got a hilarious email from one of my clients today--which kind of made my day, I laughed so hard. By the way, "Christy" is one of her tech people...

"Christy, I am so so so so so sorry if I mistyped the case number :-( (I went to behind.blackboard.com to see if I had a senior moment but my login now goes directly into developer mode and I can't get to My Profile to switch me to System Administrator.) The case number I was referring to had in the subject field "Access denied" and cross my heart five times my brain saw the 480475 as the case number. When xxxx emailed me earlier to change some settings to retrieve additional information the next time the problem occurs, I didn't even notice the two numbers were reverse from my email to you. Okay got the My Profile switched and if it's any consolation for wasting your time, I have a major big bruise in the middle of my forehard from its repeatedly impacting my keyboard. If we're ever within striking distance you're entitled to a swift kick on my backside.

PS. Do you often refer to yourself in the third person? ;-) "I know Noelle has been in touch with Christy" "

So fun working w/ academic techies.

Great weekend.

I had a fabulous weekend. It was nothing special. But it was a nice mix of accomplishment, responsibility and fun.

Friday nite I skipped out on a fun happy hour w/ my girls and went home right after work for a nice long nap. Got up from the nap an hour later, ran to pet smart and panera for a sammie. Came home, ate dinner and accomplished the following:
-cleaned up the dog's yard "litter" and the cats' box
-vacuumed
-cleaned the kitchen and bathroom
-mopped the kitchen and bathroom
-cleaned the shower!! (so proud of this)
-did 4 loads of laundry
-Watched "The Illusionist"
-Went to bed at 11:30 ish.

Saturday was a crazy busy day; got up super early, had Tres Dias until around 2. Went to Reston for a Lite the Nite event. Anne and I had some time to kill pre-walk, so we shopped for stuff we had to get and got it all bought and made it to the walk on time! By the time the walk was over at 8:00 ish, I could barely hold my head up and keep my eyes open I was so tired. Went home, stopped by the grocery for sustinence, watched a movie, slept.

Sunday, went to early church, Starbucks to kill an hour and a half. Had lunch at a FABULOUS little Mexican joint in DelRay. Walked around Del Ray for a couple of hours--including running into a girl I graduated from HS with. Random. Went home, took a nap, worked on some stuff w/ Anne for the upcoming retreat. Took Anne to her car in Tyson's and came home to watch the premier of "Pushing Daisies" on Tivo w/ Scott. I'm gonna love that show.

I got so much accomplished and had such a good time all weekend long. I don't even have one complaint. Well, maybe I can think of one... ;) So now you know!

And just for fun...take a look at my boy all stuck in the cabinet....so funny.

Awesome weekend...

I spent this weekend in Hammondsport, NY, which is up in the finger lakes region of NY. It's the fartherest north I've ever been and it's absolutely gorgeous! We went up for Kim and Brian's wedding--which was beautiful--congrats, guys! Some highlights:

-Anne and I drove up together in a rental car: a mini-van (free upgrade). We had a dvd player and about 40 empty seats! But lots of room!
-Horseback riding with Lisa in the mountains on Saturday morning. So much fun.
-The dancing at the reception which was located at Heron Hill Winery. Fun times, beautiful place.
-The house we stayed in was built on the water--amazing views.
-We had a hot tub.
-Spending the weekend w/ the munchkin. Fun times.

We had a great trip! Who knows when I'll get the pics of the horseback riding from Lisa...but in the meantime, a few snapshots...
Sunrise from our deck.
Our backyard...
DC girls...

Our deck...the house is right behind me...
Steps up to the street...on the 2nd level is the hot tub!
Our house occupants
Right before the wedding w/ the flower girl and one of the bridesmaids... (Meg and Susan)
Fun times!!!
