TV and TiVo...

I love TiVo. I love my TiVo. And, I've gotta say...I'm enjoying some really good tv shows this winter! Let me share my new fave shows w/ you....

Brothers and Sisters
The New adventures of old Christine
Studio 60
Men in Trees

I love them. Of course, nothing really touches the excitement of the return of Lost--sans reruns--but still....I'm glad good tv is back! Is it sad that I'm this excited about tv shows?? I don't care...gotta get back to catching up on my shows last week! Have a great weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARADEE!!!!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birtday to you! Happy Birthday dear Maradee....Happy Birthday to you!!!! And many more!!!

Happy Birthday, Maradee--I hope you have a wonderful birthday and an awesome year! May God bless you richly and keep you this year and many, many more! I love you!

Ski bunnies...

This time last week I was burning up the slopes at Whitetail in PA. Me, Shauna and Anne drove about an hour and a half up to Whitetail to ski. It was FREEZING and crazy windy, but we had a great day! We only had that one run-in with the guy getting off the lift....anyway, some pics from our fun day:

Thursday glow...

I'm usually sooo happy on Thursdays. It's kind of like Christmas Eve around here. Everybody is pumped for Friday (which tends to be really busy at work, so it flies by), and there is usually something going on after work, which is always fun, too. Tomorrow (friday) we have a big b-day Happy Hour for 2 friends and co-workers, so that will be a blast. But today I'm just blah. I had a really good nite last nite--spent some time with Lisa, Susan and Katie, spent the night at their house, which meant I got to sleep in really late and have a very easy commute this morning! But I am just TIRED. Like worn out, going to bed at 9:00 every nite and still haven't slept enough, mono kind of tired. Maybe it's because Monday was the saddest day of the year (did you see all those articles??)...and I'm just having a slow week. ;)

On a more energetic note....here's a new pic of the baby boy! He's easily 7lbs now and doing fabulous!!!

Updates from last week:
*Had an awesome time w/ Shauna here last week. We were busy the whole time, but had a blast.
*Had so much fun skiing on Saturday (that could be why I'm still tired!) Whitetail was awesome--but FREEZING AND WINDY. Wow. The weather was intense. We only had 1 real incident involving me, the lift exit, a kid falling in front of me, me falling, a guy yelling at me to 'stay where you are!!!', twisting my knee, the same guy helping me up--but hurting my knee, me grabbing ahold of the guys family jewels for dear life while wrapping myself around his leg trying not to fall down, walking/falling/carrying skiis down a run that was too hard for me, generally having a great time.
*Drinking my b-day pink champagne from Scott--who knew I would like pink champagne??
*I miss Shauna! It's always good to see her, but we've had so much fun the last few times she has visited--it's hard to see her go.
So, I could use a reminder of all the things I value.....Grateful once again:
1. A Job--after everything that happened here in December, I really value having one. What a blessing to enjoy it, as well.
2. Health--so I'm tired. But I know people my age with cancer or who have lost children. I have nothing to complain about!
3. Memories--My desk, my shelves at home, my fridge--all covered with pics of friends and family--most of you who are reading this are featured prominently! And it is so good to look at them. I love being surrounded by the faces of the people I love. Fun.
4. Flowers. It's not spring yet--one of my very fave things...but I have this gorgeous cycleman on my desk that Susan gave me for my b-day--and it makes me so happy.
5. Technology--I love being able to quickly reach people by email, IM or cell phone. It can be oppressive sometimes, but for the most part, it's good to be connected.
HAPPY THURSDAY!

Way behind already...

Happy New Year!!! Whew. Fast and furious already! I'm way behind already this year!!! I'm a bad blogger, too.... Let's see....a little catchup. New Y ear's was spent at Bethany Beach for the 2nd year in a row. The polar bear plunge was cold!!! But fairly mild. The outside temp was probably 60 or so. But the water was freezing! Pics from the beach....

This was pre-2nd plunge. We did 2!!
Blowing out my b-day candles.

The whole NY's gang.
Mine and Anne's yearly, cheap cigar! This year, in the rain!
So things at work are really good--and getting better every day. We are starting to dig out after the sheer craziness that occurred after the layoffs. It's still crazy busy and there are alot of things that I wish were different, but this is a huge opportunity to shine, too. I think I'll pull out my polish.... ;)
The baby boy--Landon--is doing great!!!! He's up to 6lbs 13 oz as of last week--so he's probably over 7lbs now! He's eating some cereal and still sleeping alot. Not so bad considering he should only be about 5 days old!
Shauna is in town this week. Got here yesterday, and we are already having a blast! She's really busy with work stuff, but is fitting me into a lot of fun stuff, too! We had dinner w/ Beth, Dedra and Sarah (all the DC bosses--her old ones, my current) at Dungrats--the VERY BEST thai food anywhere! Just forgive the name! We are headed skiing on Saturday--so exciting! So good to have some time with her.
This past weekend, I spent in Goshen, VA--way down south--at a YoungLife camp--RockBridge. It was actually not a YL camp--but a local church here using their facility and some of their staff. I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like this camp! It was AMAZING. Olympic sized pool. 50 person hottub. Houses nicer than my parents filled with dorm style bunkbeds. Really, really good food (we had steak one nite). This is not like the chuch camp I went to!!! I served on work crew, as a server, so it was alot of work all day, with about 3-4 hours off a day. It was hard-but awesome. Anne went too, and we went running a couple of times in the woods (I totally busted it coming down this huge hill and got major road rash and stabbed in the foot--which was no fun.), we took in the scenery, watched the kids SWIM in the lake after doing Zipline. It was crazy--IN JANUARY!!! I love global warming! ;) We got home late Sunday nite. Had Monday off and pretty much slept.
Lots has happened since my last post...this is about all I've got for now. Upcoming events: skiing this weekend, NYC b-day trip, perhaps another youth group trip in Feb! We shall see....
In the spirit of the New Year--and b/c it's been awhile....
I'm Grateful For:
1. Prayer. Those who pray for me. That Jesus himself intercedes for me. That it's powerful and a direct line. Wow.
2. Nature. What an awesome way to show God's glory.
3. Work. I'm grateful to have a job. To be blessed financially. To have purpose.
4. Health. It's so important and so easy to take for granted--until you lose it.
5. New Babies. I love mine.

Happy New Year!!!

I'm BEAT. So tired from the holidays...and a tad bit depressed b/c of 're-entry'. But doing great. Went home--saw my new baby and all my peeps. Had a b-day that started w/ Shauna and ended w/ Anne (lots of presents in between!)--and had lots of travel in the middle (drove to dallas, flew to Kansas, then to Baltimore--all thru MAJOR bad weather in TX!) Went to the beach for New Year's--so fun! Did a polar bear plunge! Twice!!! Here's some of my last 2 weeks in pics.

What's missing??

1. All the good stuff with Heather. I forgot my camera, and her mom took only one pic of us--but it was one of the best parts of my trip!

2. Pics of my wrecked rental car--stupid deer.

3. The REALLY good pics of Landon, Parker, my Granny and Christmas Eve w/ Parker/morning w/ fam. All those were taken w/ my mom's new digital camera--for which she has no computer (thus no email)--but has a printer--thus I have hard copies, but no way to share here!

4. The travel pics w/ Anne. She took all (very few) on her camera...which means I may never see them! ;) However, I am so grateful that I didn't have to travel alone, that I don't care!!!

5. New year's polar bear plunge!!! Again, on Anne's camera--my battery died! But I went in twice!!!

So enjoy!

Me and Parker at Lori's shower...a week before Landon was born!
My first time ever holding Landon--after 13 hours of travel--and it was midnite!!
