Fog and Turkey

My office is on the 10th floor--this morning, the fog is so thick outside my window that you can't see ANYTHING. It's a tad bit beyond disconcerting.....and it kind of makes me feel dizzy!

Landon update: He's doing great!!! Mama and baby are doing very well. He's off the vent, on the feeding tube-and according to Jeff yesterday, they even tried to give him a bit of a bottle, which he tried to eat but fell asleep immediately! He's apparently a sleepy little guy, seeing as how he's still suppossed to be in the womb and all! :) He's up to 3lbs 10 oz and has even gotten to wear real clothes!!! Yah!!! So everyone is doing well--except for Cee Cee (me) who is so sad she's not met him yet she could cry! (Please excuse the 3rd person--it's how Cee Cee speaks to her boys).

Thanksgiving was fabulous again this year! (Thank you, Anne!) I spent Wed. nite at the Dawson House watching a movie and going to bed early in preparation for the 2 mile fun WALK on Thanksgiving morning (part of the Turkey Chase--only this year, Gracie joined us, and she is more strong willed than Anne, so I got to walk with her instead of run!!!) We went to church for the Thanksgiving service, then to the grocery store, then home to take a long nap to the tune of the National Dog show! Love a dog show. Got up, got ready and joined Susan McMurry's (Anne's cousin) in-laws for dinner in Rockville. We had a great time and wonderful dinner. Friday, laid around all day at Rocky's house (dog-sitting)--went to see "For Your Consideration" Friday nite--hysterical. Saturday, did all my chores then headed to College Park to go to the Maryland v. Wake Forrest game. The terps lost, unfortunately, but it was a fun time. Sunday did church and lunch and went to see "Happy Feet." I was so excited to see it--and truthfully, it was cute. But not as good as I'd hoped.

So...there's the update. Looking forward to going home at Christmas--it was nice having all those days off and I need more! Never enough on this side of heaven!

Baby update...

Lori is getting released from Baptist today and is doing well (as of last nite.) They did have to put Landon on a ventilator--he was just having to struggle too hard to breathe and his pulse oxygen was going up and down too much. Jeff said there was an immediate improvement. Please pray that he will be self-sufficient soon. And that Lori's blood pressure will stay low. And for Jeff and Lori as they move a camper up into the hospital parking lot. That's where they will live the next few weeks until Landon is released. It won't be easy--but praise God they have a place to stay near the baby! Jeff will be driving back and forth every nite. Please pray for safety for him, too. God is faithful and trustworthy. I praise him for this new blessing! If only he would work a miracle and have someone in my family email me pictures of the new baby!!!! That is my prayer!!! :) Thank you for all of yours!

"He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."
1 Corinthians 1: 8-9

UPDATE: HERE ARE THE PICS!!!! Some anyway!

Landon Taylor Rogers

What a strong name...for a strong baby boy! My new nephew was born Monday nite at about 8:30pm EST. He is only 31 weeks in the womb, so he was super early and he is tiny--3lbs and 2 oz to be exact! But praise the Lord, he's healthy! He's having some trouble breathing, but they have not had to put him on a ventilator, so that is great news! Otherwise, mom and baby are doing very well! A big thank you to everyone who prayed--God has answered our prayers! Please continue to remember Lori--especially her blood pressure; and Landon, particularly his lung development.

Pictures to follow--no one has been able to send me any yet....hopefully soon! All I have are on my phone...so I can't share yet.

Today I'm thankful: "But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." Psalm 86:15

Proud Mama and 26.2....

So I'm a couple of weeks behind....but 2 weekends ago, Shauna came up for a visit and to run in the 2006 Marine Corps Marathon! She finished a 26.2 mile run in just over 5 and 1/2 hours!!!!! I'm so proud of her and her friend Liz, who ran it with her! Susan T. and I chased them all over DC to see them run past different locales--they did a great job, finished strong and survived! I'm a proud mama!!! Some fun pix from the big day...

Home again....

Here I am in Little Rock, at the Statehouse Convention Center/Peabody Hotel. We just watched the 'duck walk' for the first time. Alezandra enjoyed it....I couldn't almost help myself--I was dying to touch one! But it was fun. Here in LR for a conference and tomorrow for Lori's baby shower for my new nephew-Landon. Very exciting! LR is weird....feels not at ALL like home. I'm a bit homesick for Alexandria.....totally crazy. It'll be better tonite, tho, when I get home and see everybody--esp. Parker. I did get to have lunch with Chad yesterday--fun times!!! Good to catch up!
