Good day...
"How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you." Psalm 31:19
Wahoooooo! We did our annual trip to Bath Co. for the triathlon this past weekend! As usual, it was a gorgeous drive, wonderful house and a great time with good friends! This year, Anne, Susan and I stayed in town in a PRECIOUS house called the McClintock Cottage. We made it in record time on Friday afternoon. Had plenty of time for packet pick up, dinner, local shopping at the Pit Stop, and hanging out. We arose early Saturday morning to chilly temps and a gorgeous, sunshine-filled morning! When we got to the race, we unloaded, got ready and hit the road! Anne did the entire race, Susan and I did a relay--with me on the swim/bike; her on the run. It was a fabulous race and everyone felt great after! There was even a bear sighting on the run course!!!
Anne and I rode 32-35 miles (there's some debate there on how far it actually was)--to raise money for the American Diabetes Association! We actually exceeded our goal!!! It's too bad it was after the race tho...and we had to pay alot to ride. Oh well--it was for a good cause! And, it was mostly fun! Except for the last hour or so! ;) So sorry, Anne!!
Okay, I'm overdue on pics here...so I finally uploaded everything..and here it is!!!
So this weekend was the annual Bath County Triathlon.
Billy Graham is one of my earthly heroes. My heart goes out to him and his family during this time of loss...but what glory Ruth is experiencing right this second even!!! And what a gift to see this family be such a wonderful influence and give hope even in times of loss. God bless...
Isn't that what the sportsteam in Arizona is called?? Who cares?! I'm so freaking over Arizona right this second. This place is HOT (like 109) and ugly. Nothing but rocks and sun and dirt everywhere you look. And cactus are WEIRD. Ugh. It probably doesn't help that I'm working 45 hours a day. Actually, My hours have been cut almost in half...only 10 hours yesterday and today and tomorrow (today is saturday). Wahoo!!! BUT---as much as I'm ready to head East (yes I said east, and not south--DC must FINALLY be growing on me!)...I know that I am blessed to be here. After all, I am being paid OT!!! Pics to come soon---well, who knows when soon will be....
As I was typing the caption, I thought "how weird to shower a baby!?!" Or in the famous words of Shauna, "what kind of babies take a shower???" I attended Uzma's baby shower a couple of weeks ago...a couple of fun disco pics from the event...
I'm in Arizona. Tucson to be exact. I can't say that I'm impressed so far. It beats all I've ever seen.....no grass. HOT HOT HOT. It was 109 yesterday...and there are red lava rocks EVERYWHERE. In yards, people rake them. Cactus and random aloe looking plants. That's about it. It's not a pretty town, but I hear I haven't seen the good parts yet. No doubt I won't see them. If yesterday is any indicator...I worked 16 hours. Praise the Lord for overtime!! :) Wish me luck! Will be flying home on Friday--can't wait!
