What a weekend! It was a gorgeous fall weekend here in DC. Absolutely perfect weather! I stayed home and ordered Chinese food and watched Blades of Glory w/ Scott on Friday nite. Went to bed pretty early since I was still nursing a cold. Got up super early Saturday morning and headed to Wheaton to Jim and Katie's house for Jim to finish up a tune up on my car and to keep the munchkin while Katie cleaned her office. It wound up being a fabulous morning and so much fun to play with Natalie!
We had a slight change of plans after we had a small glitch with the distributor cap--but Jim came thru with his usual reliable self and totally took care of business. Anne ended up taking me home since I was sans car until Sunday after church. Worked out great b/c Anne, Nancy and I had a fun day planned anyway.
We started off at Arlington National Cemetary where we saw the tail end of the changing of the guard and visited Anne's grandparents and uncle's graves. Very cool.
Anne and Fancy at dinner....
In the rotunda at the cemetary...
Anne paying her respects to her grandparents (grandmother and uncle on left/grandfather on the right). Nancy was so funny...she was like, "Get up, Anne! I think that might be disrespectful and people are staring." High-larious.
Then we went down to Old Town and visited their friend Jen's new shop and had dinner at the Fish Market. I gotta say, I used to LOVE that place...but the piano guy has retired and the service was TERRIBLE. However--we had a great time and a pretty decent dinner. We were there forever, so by the time we left we were ready to move along. Walked around Old Town, got a cup of coffee, stayed in CVS WAAAAYYY too long for a Saturday nite and then headed to....(wait for it)..........................
NICK'S COUNTRY BAR FOR SOME LINE DANCING!!!
That's right. I've still got it people.
Actually, that's kind of a lie. Line dances have gotten significantly more complicated since my old BJ's days...but it was a blast. Fun times.
Got up Sunday, went to church and then Sunday afternoon headed to Reston to spend some time with some of my Tres Dias friends. I love those ladies. Had a fabulous afternoon. And a fabulous weekend all the way around.
Now it's Monday....*sigh* Only 4 more days till the next one! ;)
